Channel 4’s Self Portrait UK Campaign
Working with independent production company, Media 19, we managed a national campaign to ask ‘How
the Nation Sees Itself’? By widely publicising this C4 cross-platform initiative across
national and regional media we challenged people across the UK to create their own self portrait.
This attracted thousands of entries and culminated in a touring exhibition, online gallery and
TV series. The success of the campaign has since led to projects examining both how teenagers
and refugees in Britain see themselves.
